⚙️Step 2: Apply Cursor Rules

Teach your AI assistant some ground rules (so it doesn’t go rogue).

The Rulesarrow-up-right feature in Cursor IDE lets you define custom instructions that guide the AI when generating code. Think of it as giving Cursor a cheat sheet for how FTO strategies are supposed to behave.

By setting up rules that explain key parts of the FTO workflow, you help Cursor write smarter, cleaner, and more on-point code — like a teammate who actually read the docs.

To set up global rules, just click the Settings icon (see Picture #1), and start adding your custom rules.

The better the rules, the better the code. Cursor listens — you just need to tell it what’s what.

Next, click on the “Rules & Memories” tab (yep, that one in Picture #2) — this is where the magic starts.

In the “User Rules & Memories” field (see Picture #3), simply open the file named Rules.md, copy everything inside, and paste it right into that box.

No need to overthink it — just copy, paste, and you’re good to go. Cursor will now know what’s up.

Nice! Now Cursor understands how FTO strategies work — time to move on to the fun part.

Let’s move on to Step 3 and help Cursor connect the dots, even the smartest AI needs a hint sometimes.
